We have many events through four seasons. If you fortunately visit Beppu city on the event period, it is sure to make the unforgettable memories. You can feel our culture or life style more deeply through these events. Our events are mostly done by the citizens of Beppu city, so you can join easily to the event.
Onsen Matsuri in Spring This festival is very historical one and we pray for a god of SPA which our town is based upon it. Feel the spirit of spring when you watch the lively dancing and colourful shrines. At the end of Onsen Matsuri, the Mt.Ohgiyama is covered by the fire in order to show god of SPA in the sky the beautiful scene. During the period of Onsen Matsuri, many small festivals will be done on the several streets or parks. ARGERICH'S MUSIC FESTIVAL The world's famous pianist Ms. Argerich performs at the B'con plaza which is recentry build for the philharmonic concert or convention.
BEPPU SUMMER FESTA With fire works displays, the Ocean Fire Festival, and other events, the Beppu summer is lit with excitement. You can join the circle of Bon Odori ( Bon Dance ) which many Beppu citizens dancing with the traditional Japanese Music.
BEPPU DREAM-VAL Beppu Dream Val is the very new festival. A lot of dancing teams gather from all Japan or foreign countries and compete their dancing performance. You can watch the many kinds of dances such as Mongorian, Korean or another several Asian Pacific countries.
CHRISTMAS HANABI FANTAJIA On the Christmas nights, the beautiful fireworks performed with the moody Christmas music. They are completely synchronized and it will be an unforgettable memories for you. Along with the fireworks, a thouthand of children sing Christmas songs for cerebrating the Christmas season.
